‘Pipl’ – the people search engine is here!
Welcome back to the latest issue of the ‘UK People Search News’.
This week I am going to take a look at a new service to help you in your people searches.
‘Pipl’ is the first of a new breed of search engine that is designed to search for people. It explores areas of the internet known as the 'Deep Web' to find information that ordinary search engines often can't access.
The term ‘Deep Web’ refers to a vast store of underlying content, such as documents in online databases that general-purpose web crawlers cannot reach. This deep web content is estimated to be 500 times the size of the surface web, yet it has remained mostly untapped due to the limitations of traditional search engines.
Since most personal profiles, public records and other people-related documents are stored in databases and not on static web pages, most of this kind of information about people is simply invisible to a regular search engine.
It is not just about getting more results for your searches, but about getting more relevant information.
Why not give it a try? You can find it at http://www.pipl.com/
So who will it find?
It will find people who have posted on the internet, who use social networking sites like MySpace, who have a website etc. This might seem limiting, but the internet is growing all the time and more and more people are discovering the joys of computers and of the internet.
Remember that not everyone uses their real name, so think about trying nicknames as well.
I think it is great and I hope you have fun with it!
******************
I hope that this information is useful and that it helps you to find the person you are looking for.
I run a people finding service called Blood-Ties Tracing Service, which you can find at http://www.blood-ties.com/. I should be happy to help you in your searches.
Archives of these e-letters can be found on the ‘UK People Search News’ at http://uk-people-search.blogspot.com/ Please feel free to re-publish this article so long as it remains unaltered and this resource box is included.
The views expressed in my articles are mine alone and while they are effective methods used in my own business I cannot guarantee the results that you will achieve. While these articles are written with every care, I am not a lawyer and you should consider the legality and morality of any steps you take to trace people. Please remember that your investigation could cause distress to others so tread gently and make sure your contact is welcome to them.
Until next week -
Best regards,
Giles
